So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I’ve got some research to do for a post on the riveting subject of Taxation in Portugal. So there.

6 TPA – End Of The Boon Time The so-called Taxpayers’ Alliance has parted company with Emma Boon, who represented them on Question Time last February. But there was no announcement, no word from their pals on the right, nothing. Why did they try to keep it quiet?

5 Flannelled Fool Fabrication Falls Flat The odious Henry Cole, tame gofer to the perpetually thirsty Paul Staines at the Guido Fawkes blog, was miffed that someone he didn’t approve of was doing better than he was. He got called out by me for his pisspoor reasoning. He threw a mardy strop. No change there, then.

4 TPA – Missing The Bus While Londoners were having the bill for occasional Mayor Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson’s new whizzo vanity bus dumped on them, the so-called Taxpayers’ Alliance was silent, preferring instead to support a right wing gathering in Windsor. Not that they’re ideologues who don’t care about taxpayers, of course. Perish the thought!

3 Freedom Association – It’s A Turkey Another Europhobic pile of falsehood and misinformation, this time from a convocation of lobby group, Daily Express and UKIP, was duly filleted in short order.

2 Murdoch Is Served (82) The revelations by IndyVoices about Jonathan Rees, the now defunct Screws, and the Metropolitan Police were significant – and here I show why the lid is being slowly prised from the worm can.

1 Newton Dunn? He Certainly Is The Sun’s political editor was in trouble as scourge of the Murdoch empire Tom Watson revealed that he had been the subject of a complaint regarding workplace bullying. The suggestion that he lost his appeal and is now on a final written warning was not convincingly rebuffed.
